Welcome to the inaugural Trailer Report podcast episode where we’ll be sharing our thoughts on the latest teasers and trailers — and frankly we couldn’t have picked a better week to start!

We kick off Trailer Report’s Trailer Report by discussing Tom Cruise’s daring stunts in the M:I Dead Reckoning Part One teaser trailer, even though we’re still not over Top Gun: Maverick. The 2-minute teaser, which was due to be released in front of the Top Gun sequel in cinemas from this week, leaked last weekend meaning that Paramount took quick action and released the teaser officially.

Ryan Gosling’s highly-anticipated return to our screens comes in the form of the Russo Bros’ The Gray Man, which arrives on Netflix 22nd July. Thankfully, the film will be released in UK cinemas for a short period from 15th July. As we discuss in this episode, with the Russo Bros’ great track record and the stacked cast of Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Regé-Jean Page, Billy Bob Thornton, and Jessica Henwick, there is plenty to be excited about.

This week Marvel shared the first official trailer for Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love & Thunder, which gives us a better look at Natalie Portman’s return as Jane Foster and her transformation into Mighty Thor. Whilst there are some great looking visuals in the trailer, we can’t help but feel a little bit of the “Marvel burnout” that’s going around and we delve into that a little bit.

Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis has split audiences during Cannes this week, but that only makes some of us more excited for the film about the King of Rock and Roll. The film is said to be dripping in Luhrmann’s style and flair, and it very much looks like it does from the new 3-minute trailer Warner Bros. released this week.

Finally, we come to probably the most bizarre trailer of the year so far — George Miller’s 3000 Years of Longing — which stars Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba. As you can tell by this episode, the trailer left us a little speechless — literally. We’re not fully sure of what the hell is going on but with Miller behind the camera and Swinton and Idris doing their thing, we’re definitely intrigued.

That’s all for this week’s episode. Be sure to answer the poll on Spotify about which film from this week’s episode you’re most looking forward to — or tell us over on Twitter!
